EVOH layer protection

✳️ Changing the pipe construction from a three-layer 3W to a five-layer 5W has an additional technical aspect, especially important for installers. 

✳️ 5-layer pipes are technically better equivalents of 3-layer pipes. Modern 5W polyethylene pipes have an EVOH anti-diffusion layer "hidden" in the pipe wall structure. Such a design of the EVOH shield protects it against mechanical damage during the installation of pipes on the construction site.

✳️ In this way, the entire installation made of 5W pipes is protected against the diffusion of oxygen into its interior. As a result, the risk of corrosion of metal elements occurring in the installation is reduced.

▶️ Child's play

The significantly increased flexibility of the pipe guarantees much easier installation of underfloor heating loops. Thanks to this, the installation is much faster and more comfortable for the contractor, even at low temperatures.

▶️ 5W technology in kan-therm pipes!

All existing polyethylene pipes, made in a three-layer 3W construction, will ultimately be replaced by new 5W versions.

In technical and formal terms, the new pipes are exact replacements and can be used interchangeably or together within a single plant.

An additional advantage of our changes is the optimization of the packaging method. For all lengths of PE-Xc, PE-RT and PE-RT Blue Floor polyethylene pipes in the 5W version, we used cardboard packaging. Thanks to this, we have increased product safety by minimizing the risk of mechanical damage to pipes during their transport and storage, both in warehouses and on the construction site.

Changes regarding the transition from 3W to 5W pipe construction will be introduced successively.
