3-way valves are usually used as mixing valves, where the required temperature is achieved by mixing the hot water from the boiler in the right proportion with the cool water back. 3-way valves can also be used as distribution or switching valves when it is required to divide the water stream from the boiler into two circuits, e.g. for the heating system and the hot water storage tank. The new 3-way ARV valves perform even better in this application, thanks to the improved internal design. The improved design allows to achieve a much smaller internal leak, while maintaining the low required torque. The new 3-way ARV rotary mixing valves with internal thread are made of brass. The connections have the form of an octagon, which definitely facilitates installation with a hydraulic wrench. The valves are equipped with knobs for manual adjustment and rotation angle limiters to facilitate proper setting. A clear scale located on the knob cover allows precise determination of the degree of valve opening. On one side it is printed with a graduation "from 0 to 10", and on the other side there is a scale "from 10 to 0". This allows the valve to operate in different mounting positions. The bold section of the knob circumference reflects the position of the containment inside the valve. The knob is made of non-slip material. To connect the new ARV valves to the new ARM actuators, there are components made of durable plastic located under the knob. Thanks to them, the actuators are mounted in the ProClick system, without the use of tools. ARV valves require the use of low torque to rotate them.

• Octagonal hydraulic key surfaces make it easier to install the valve on the installation.

• The thickened part of the valve knob determines the position of the containment inside the valve. This makes it easier to set and control the correct operation of the valve.

HOW TO REGULATE THE CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM USING 3-WAY ARV MIXING VALVES?

Depending on the place of installation of the circulation pump relative to the mixing valve, it can perform the function of mixing two water jets with different parameters and the function of switching or separating the water jet.

Diagram "a" shows an installation with a circulation pump mounted behind the mixing valve. In this installation, the valve carries out the so-called quality regulation, i.e . directly affecting the temperature of the water "exiting" the  valve. The pump draws water from the supply and return in proportions appropriate to the degree of opening of the mixing valve.

In the case of mounting the pump in front of the mixing valve, as shown in diagrams "b" and "c", by setting the extreme positions of the mixing valve, we can switch the water stream directly to the buffer or heat exchanger (scheme " b"). By setting the valve in intermediate positions, we partially divide the water stream into supply and return, thus regulating the power of the installation as well as increasing the temperature of the water returning to the boiler (scheme "c"). In this type of installations, we are dealing with quantitative regulation.
