▶️ PRESS FITTINGS AND PIPES:

Press fittings are a basic element of the system. They are available in different types and shapes that can be used for flanged, threaded or welded joints. Each fitting is finished with a molded seat with a synthetic, rubber O-ring seal.

Pipes are the second most important element of the system. Other tubes available on the market may be used, provided that they comply with the technical specifications presented later in the catalogue, which describes the different applications of the system.

▶️ JOINING PROCESS:

Pipe press connections are made quickly, simply and safely. The result of the operation is "final" because the combined elements cannot be separated and restored to their original state. The pipe is plugged into the fitting until it stops, and then the molded end of the fitting is pressed on the pipe with the help of the jaws of the tool. Pressing causes two deformations. The first, radial, presses the O-ring in a specially shaped chamber and guarantees tightness of the connection. The second, geometric, applies to both the pipe and the fitting and forms their mechanical connection, resistant to pulling out and turning. The polygonal pressing profile varies depending on the diameters of the system components. Hexagonal or triangle-like, but in any case it forms a homogeneous connection.

▶️ The carbon steel installation system is an extremely fast and easy to install press system, offering reliable connections with high mechanical resistance in civil and industrial installations

▶️ The range of pipe diameters currently available in the offer is 15 to 108 mm, depending on the material used. The three largest diameters of 76.1, 88.9 and 108 mm are customarily called "large sizes".

▶️ ADVANTAGES OF THE SYSTEM:

Due to the above-mentioned properties and range of applications, this system has many advantages:

✔️ an alternative to traditional connection systems that require welding or threading;

✔️ overall lower installation cost;

✔️ quick and easy installation;

✔️ clean and safe installation, without risk to the installer;

✔️ reliable, safe and durable sealing;

✔️ minimal possibility of operator error;

✔️ no risk of fire during installation;

✔️ high corrosion resistance;

✔️ high temperature resistance;

✔️ significant reduction in the weight of the installation compared to traditional metal systems;

✔️ aesthetic appearance - the perfect solution for visible installations;

✔️ exceptional liquid flow properties;

✔️ The final quality of the plant depends more on the equipment than on the skills of the operator, who does not have to be highly qualified.

In the new Pressfitting system, any leakage is only possible for one reason: improper or unsuccessful pressing of the joints.

An additional prevention solution is provided or, in any case, makes it possible to easily identify unpressed joints.

✅ 1. Ring connector before pressing

✅ 2. Ring connector after pressing

✅ 3. Thin, conspicuous ring

▶️ VISUAL UNPRESSED INDICATOR - RING:

In the new Pressfitting system, any leakage is only possible for one reason: improper or unsuccessful pressing of the joints. An additional prevention solution is provided or, in any case, makes it possible to easily identify unpressed joints. It is a visual system called "press-check sleeve": a thin, conspicuous foil ring is applied to the outside of the connector, in place of the O-ring cover. The film has no effect on the assembly. When the fitting is pressed, the film breaks and separates from the metal surface. The crack allows it to be easily removed, without the need for additional tools. When checking the system, the installer will quickly notice, even from a distance, whether any colored films have remained intact on the fittings. If the foil has not been removed after pressing, the installer will always recognize that its condition differs significantly from the original one. Therefore, there is no need to physically approach each connection to evaluate all fittings and identify minor leaks. If the pressing is not visible, but can only be touched (in hard-to-reach or dark spaces), the condition of the film can be easily recognized by touch alone. The color of the film is related to the different types of fittings: blue for stainless steel fittings for water installations, yellow for stainless steel fittings for gas installations, red for carbon steel fittings. The annular indicator is used in all fittings with diameters from 12 to 54 mm. In large sizes, such a solution is not necessary, since the dimensions of the joints allow quick visual inspection of the pressing even from a certain distance. This solution in combination with LBP seals offers installers double protection

 ⚠️ Remark. The compression ring is deliberately designed to break the fitting, but not to attach to the underside of the tool's jaws. Despite this, in some cases, the film remains on the jaws. We recommend that you delete it before making another call.

▶️ O-RING:

Gaskets made of synthetic rubber ensure that the connection is hermetically sealed. The range of gaskets currently covers diameters from 12 to 108 mm, depending on the material used.

▶️ LBP / with leak indication

Patented, innovatively designed O-ring gasket available in EPDM version and in diameters from 12 to 54 mm. It has a polygonal shape, consists of a series of tubular sections with a rectilinear axis and a constant cross-section, arranged in a ring in such a way that in an unpressed gasket the flow between the O-ring and its seat is free. If the fitting has been accidentally unpressed, the O-ring profile helps to identify this unwanted condition, both during the leak test and visually, as a condensed water or air leakage is visible, according to DVGW W 534 worksheet. This characteristic is commonly referred to as LBP – Leak Before Press). When the fitting is properly pressed, the O-ring closes all flow paths and provides a hermetic seal, such as with a traditional gasket. The offered gasket has a number of advantages: - its shape is more similar to traditional O-rings, because it is the only gasket with a continuous circular cross-section along its entire length; -there is no risk of leakage after pressing, which happens with other systems. Due to the profile of these O-rings, the rubber part with large deformations is in contact with the metal part gently deformed as a result of pressing, which does not allow hermetic closure of all flow pathways, especially in conditions of temperature fluctuations.

⚠️❗️LBP O-ring Gasket + Ring = Double Reliability ❗️⚠️

▶️ PRESSING TOOLS:

The pressing process is possible thanks to the use of special pressing tools equipped with interchangeable tips (jaws or chains), which vary depending on the diameter of the fitting and pipe. There are various types of electromechanical or more often electrohydraulic pressing tools available on the market, in battery-powered or mains versions (230V – 110V – 48V). They are usually divided into 3 classes depending on the maximum clamping force used:- portable, with low clamping force (up to 17 kN), suitable for pressing diameters up to about 28 mm;- with medium clamping force (up to 40 kN), the most common and most versatile, generally suitable for pressing diameters up to 54 mm, but some models are suitable for pressing diameters up to 108 mm;- with high clamping force (over 40 kN), Suitable for pressing large diameters (from diameter 76.1mm and more). These are tools of large size and weight. A wide range of pressing tools can be used for Eurotubi Pressfitting provided they are equipped with "M" profile tips.
