Function

The antifreeze valve causes a slow flow of the medium from the installation when its temperature reaches an average value of 3 °C. This prevents the formation of ice in the system, which protects pipelines and equipment from damage.

Principle

When the temperature of the medium in the pipe drops below 3 °C, the closing element will open the valve vent, which will cause water to leak out. The closing of the outlet occurs when the temperature of the medium is 4 °C.

1) Medium temperature > 3 °C - Closed outlet

2) Medium temperature < 3 °C - Open outlet

Vacuum Interrupter Replacement

In the event of damage, the vacuum interrupter (1) located in the upper part can be replaced.

Thermostatic cartridge replacement

In case of damage, it is possible to replace the thermostatic cartridge (2). Thanks to the use of a foot valve inside the body, such a procedure can be carried out without the need to empty the installation.

Installation

The valve must be installed in a vertical position with the outlet pointing downwards in such a way as to allow the medium to flow freely. Valves should be installed outside the building at the lowest temperatures if the heat pump is switched off. The installation location should be away from elements that could interfere with the operation of the valve (heat source). It is recommended to mount on the power cord and return to the device. In the case of another installation, one of the wires may freeze. For the proper operation of the valve in the system, pressure must be ensured.

Keep a distance of at least 15 cm from the ground (Fig. A) to prevent the formation of an ice column. Drainage of water leaking from the drain must be ensured. Keep about 10 cm (Fig. B) distance between valves. For proper operation, it is not recommended to insulate the valves. Protection from rain, snow and direct sunlight must be provided.
